In recent years we have witnessed a growing hatred for the Word of God in the United States. As unbelievable as it seems on February 2, 2011 Pastor Brett Coronado and Mark Mackey were arrested in front of a California Department of Motor Vehicles for reading the Bible. That’s all they were doing—just reading the scriptures aloud in front of a group waiting for the DMV to open for business.
Compare the attitude of the arresting officers with the attitude of the Israelites in Ezra’s day:
“Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly…and all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law…Day after day, from the first day to the last…”
— Nehemiah 8:2, 3, and 18
Lord Jesus, forgive those officers for they do not know what they are doing. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
