There have been several extraordinary men and women of God who have done remarkable things. Yet I dare say none of them would claim to have done “even greater works” than Jesus did. So how should we understand John 14:12?
May I suggest that the Church—the universal body of blood washed, born again, and Holy Spirit empowered believers—collectively has done even greater works than Jesus did during His brief earthly ministry. Collectively the church has reached more people, healed more people, even raised more people from the dead than Jesus did alone.

Lord Jesus, empower Your church to do the works that You did so our broken world may be healed. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
