As a young man I considered prayer an obligation, something Christians had to do. As I matured in the Lord, I came to understand that it was a discipline that would one day become a delight. Now I realize that prayer is a privilege. Try to get an audience with some earthly dignitary and what do you think your chances are? Probably not every good, but every time we whisper a prayer in Jesus’ name, God promises to meet us there. Now that’s a privilege!

Lord Jesus, thank You for always being there when we call upon You. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
