Journaling has been an important part of my devotional praying for years. It is a historical spiritual discipline and the keeping of prayer journals has played a significant role in the history of the Church. From St. Augustine to Pascal to the Society of Friends, some form of the spiritual journal has been used for spiritual discipline and growth. It is a wise person who learns from those who have gone before him and puts this ancient discipline into practice in his own life.

Lord Jesus, guide our thoughts as we reflect upon our daily walk. Reveal things we would not ordinarily see. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
