To prepare for the storms of life, we must build our lives on the Rock by putting the teachings of Jesus into practice. We must love the Lord our God with all of our heart, mind, and strength (Matthew 22:38). We must hide His Word in our hearts so we will not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11). We must pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and we must avoid the very appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). Finally, we must build ourselves up in the most holy faith by praying in the Holy Spirit (Jude 20).

Lord Jesus, help us to build our lives upon the Rock so we can stand can when the inevitable storms of life come. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
