The second thing you need to do is “Get rid of all excess baggage.” Decide now what you need to get rid of in order to survive the storm. Is it resentment? Jealousy? Bitterness? Hurt feelings? Unforgiveness? Doubt? Fear? Anger? That’s the kind of negative baggage that will sink your ship when life’s storms come, so throw it overboard!

Lord Jesus, help us get rid of all the negative stuff we’ve been dragging around. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
