How can God be both just and merciful? Only the wisdom of God could find a solution, and only the love of God could make that solution a living reality. By becoming one of us and living a sinless life, Jesus fully satisfied the holy demands of a righteous God thus making it possible for God to accept us. Through His sacrificial death, Jesus suffered the full penalty for our sins making it possible for God to forgive our sins without violating His character. Since both His justice and His righteous demands have been satisfied, God is now free to manifest His love and mercy toward us.
