Most of us do not see life as it is but as we are. Our perceptions of people and events are colored by our experiences—the pain of our present perplexity, the nostalgia of the past, even the hopes and fears we have for the future. And so, it is with our perception of God. More often than not, we do not see Him as He is but as we are. When Father God wanted to reveal Himself to us, He gave us Jesus. If you truly want to know what God is like get to know Jesus. He’s God’s idea of Himself.
“Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.”
— Colossians 1:15 (NLT)
