I have spent my entire adult life serving in ministry. As a pastor I have had my share of differences with church leaders. Inevitable I was tempted to think of those who disagreed with me as enemies. Nothing could be farther from the truth. It is important to remember that the Lord loves “them” as much as he loves us. They are not an enemy to be defeated but brothers and sisters to be reconciled.
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.”
— Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, help us to humble ourselves and make things right with those who have ought against us. Amen.
