When your world is falling apart you have three choices. You can curse life, or you can grit your teeth and endure it, or you can accept it. For the believer there is really only one option—acceptance. Not resignation, which gives up and says, “Whatever will be will be.” But acceptance, which submits to the Father’s will even when there is not so much as a hint of deliverance in sight. Acceptance enables you to pray for a miracle while leaving the nature of the miracle to the wisdom of God. Your miracle may come as supernatural deliverance, or it may come as special grace to live with meaning even as you come to grips with the tragedy that is unfolding.
