I would like to suggest that even as you pray with faith for specific answers, you also humbly submit to the will of the Father. That’s what Jesus did. Matthew tells us that He prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me…’” (Mt. 26:39). That was a very specific prayer, but God did not grant it. In fact, the harder Jesus prayed the more distressed He became. He found peace only when He prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done” (Mt. 26:42).

“Jesus offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears…and he was heard because of his reverent submission.”

— Hebrews 5:7 (NIV)

Lord submission isn’t easy for us, but we chose to surrender our will to Your will. Amen.
