Childhood memories, whether good or bad, shape who we become as adults. For instance, my father was an avid reader and I am told that when I was just a baby I would sit in his lap for hours, perfectly still, while he read. Thinking about it now, I realize that my love for books may well have been born right there in his arms. Even today I think of a good book as a trusted friend, and I associate them with happiness and love.

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.”

— Psalm 77:11-12

Lord Jesus, thank You for the good memories that enrich my life and make me who I am today. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
