Is there anyone in your life who gets on your nerves? Maybe it’s their constant chatter, or the way they constantly tap their fingers on the tabletop, or their irritating laugh, or their victim mentality. Whatever it is it drives you crazy.
As a Christian how should we respond to people like that? Should we just ignore them or go out of our way to distance ourselves from them? No! Paul tells us to “bear with each other.” Does that mean we are to put up with irritating people? Yes, but it means so much more. It means we must make every effort to understand them and to love them unconditionally.
“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone.”
— Colossians 3:13 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, forgive my impatience. Help me to love unconditionally. Amen.
