As we enter Thanksgiving week, I would like to encourage you to pause and reflect on all you have to be thankful for. Several things probably come to mind—your salvation, your family, your health, the promise of Christ’s abiding presence, daily provision, and good friends. Of course, there is more—a comfortable house in which to live, reliable transportation, meaningful employment, and clean clothes. Then there’s ordinary things like sunsets and rainbows, bird songs and butterflies. The intoxicating smell of home baked bread, a warm fire, and a good cup of coffee. These are all gifts from our loving heavenly Father.
“Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father.”
— James 1:17 (NLT)
Lord Jesus You are the gift from which all other gifts flow. Give us a thankful heart. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
