Although Satan tempted Jesus to turn stones into bread let there be no mistake. This temptation was not about turning stones into bread. At its core this temptation challenged the very foundations of who Jesus was. It was designed to cast doubt on both His personhood and His mission. As such it tempted Him to prove Himself, to use His divine power for purely personal gain, rather than trust the word of the Father. Are you attempting to build your self-image on your accomplishments or are you trusting your identity in Christ?

Lord help us to build our self-image only on our identity in Christ rather than on our accomplishments. Amen.
