In a misdirected effort to motivate us to love one another, sincere people often make us feel responsible for the whole world and that is a burden too heavy to bear. In the final analysis the world is God’s responsibility, not ours. I am not suggesting that we are not our brother’s keeper, but only that our compassion must be tempered with wisdom. Only as we recognize and live within our limits will we know the joy of working as co-laborers with Him.

Lord Jesus, help us to be passionately obedient, to do everything You have asked us to do and no more. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
