While Jesus lived on earth, He was both the Son of God and the Son of Man. In His public ministry we see Christ – the glory of the One who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. In the private moments He spent with the disciples, we see Jesus, Mary’s son. The One who was made like us in every way (see Hebrews 2:17). We worship the glorified Son of God, but we love Jesus, the One who shared our humanity.
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
— Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, thank You for becoming the Son of Man that we may be made the sons of God. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
