I wish someone had told me that happiness was a consequence not a goal. Happiness is like a butterfly, it’s elusive. The harder you try to catch it the more elusive it becomes. But if you will be still, sit quietly, almost before you know it that butterfly will light upon your shoulder. If you seek only your own happiness you will likely end up frustrated. But if you live your life honorably in sacrificial service to God and others happiness will find you.

Lord help us to realize we have to seek the wellbeing of others to experience our own happiness. Amen.
