Worry tempts us to try and solve problems that have not yet happened and may never happen. When we worry, we are on our own because God does not give us wisdom for imaginary problems or grace for imaginary trials. So what can we do? The apostle Paul says:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, help us to pray when we are tempted to worry. Help us to focus on Your sufficiency, not our imaginary problems. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
