According to Ralph Waldo Emmerson, “A man is what he thinks all day long.” But that idea was not original with him. Markus Aurelias, consider one of the wisest men in ancient Rome, said, “Our life is what our thoughts make it.” But long before Aurelias, Solomon wrote, “…as [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7 KJV). All of which is to say that it is critically important to guard our thoughts for they will determine our emotions and our emotions will strongly influence our actions.
