You probably don’t have to look very far to see someone in dire financial straits. Often it is not only the stranger standing on the street corner with a sign asking for help, but also a friend or a family member. Of course, we should do what we can to help them but often their situation is beyond our limited resources. So, what can we do? We can pray. We can ask the Lord to open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing they can’t contain (see Malachi 3:10). We can ask Him to give them a job, or a promotion, or a raise, or a financial blessing we can’t even imagine.
