Do you struggle with a besetting sin? Don’t despair, God is greater than any stronghold in your life. For years I was an angry man. I used a number of strategies in an attempt to control my anger. I suffered in silence and grew bitter. I lashed out in retaliation and lived to regret it. I tried to give in and ended up feeling used and trapped. I confronted in love, tough love, and grieved as I was misunderstood and feared. Here’s what I discovered. Anger management techniques are largely ineffective until the stronghold of anger is broken. Only God can break that stronghold, but you must cry out for His help!

Lord Jesus, heal the hurts that give birth to our anger and heal the hurts our anger has inflicted in others. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
