As you discipline yourself to wait quietly in the Lord’s presence, you will feel the tensions slip away. Even the discordant voices within will grow quiet. Out of the silence God will speak to you in a still small voice that renews your soul. You will remember who you are – a child of God. You will remember who He is – your Heavenly Father. You will remember and be blessed.
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
— Isaiah 26:3 (KJV)
Lord Jesus, it is hard for me to wait quietly in Your presence. A half a hundred thoughts clamor for my attention and the demands of the day press in upon me. Still I wait, for only Your still small voice can renew me. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
