In Exodus 33:18 Moses asked the Lord to show him His glory. I don’t know what Moses was expecting but if I prayed that prayer and the Lord answered it, I would expect to see a demonstration of His mighty power, or revelation of His glory, or a manifestation of His holiness like Isaiah saw when the Lord’s glory filled the temple (see Isaiah 6). But the Lord did not show Moses anything like that. Instead, the Lord said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you (Exodus 33:19).
Think about it. God goodness is His glory, and He wants to do good things for you!
Jesus said: “You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.”
— Luke 12:32 (MSG)
Lord Jesus show us Your goodness so we may trust You more. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
