As we were nearing retirement Brenda and I were called to serve a church in crisis. Although Brenda fully supported our decision to accept the call, once we settled in she felt overwhelmed and wondered if we had made a mistake. One morning she prayed, “Speak to me Lord. Let me know if I can do this.” She opened her bible randomly and her eyes fall on 1 Chronicles 28:10 “Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you…be strong and do the work.” Although the situation did not immediately change, she was at peace. God had spoken to her through His Word.
