Babies are born thinking the world revolves around them and some children never grow out of it, not even as adults. Everything is about them – “I, me, my, and mine.”
Years ago, I heard a pastor say “I enjoy nurturing new believers and seeing them grow into mature Christ followers. I don’t mind their immature attitudes and mistakes because that’s to be expected but what I hate is dealing with those people who never grow up, who are never weaned off the bottle. I hate parting the whiskers to get the nipple in!”
Put away childish things. Stop thinking only of yourself. Think of others. Get committed to a cause greater than yourself!
“When I grew up, I put away childish things.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:11(NLT)
Lord deliver us from our childish ways. Amen.
