Even best friends suffer disagreements. No one is immune, not even spiritual giants like Paul and Barnabas. They were co-workers and close friends yet they “had such a sharp disagreement that they parted company” (Acts 15:39). Barnabas wanted his nephew John Mark to be part of the team, but Paul refused to consider it because Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia. Thank God that’s not the end of the story. We know Paul and Mark were reconciled because one of Paul’s last requests to Timothy was, “Get Mark and bring him with you, because he is helpful to me in my ministry.” Take heart even the most painful disagreements can be healed!
“If someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently.”
— Galatians 6:1 (NIV)
Lord, heal our broken relationships. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
