Acts 27:29 says, “Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight.” I call those four anchors “lifelines,” and they are what keep us from being dashed on the rocks of despair when the storm is raging.

May I suggest four lifelines that will hold you secure no matter how severe the storm? 1) The Word of God. 2) God’s character and faithfulness. 3) The sacrifice of praise. 4) The promise of His presence.

“For in the time of trouble He shall hide me in His pavilion; in the secret place of His tabernacle He shall hide me; He shall set me high upon a rock.”

— Psalm 27:5 (NKJV)

Lord Jesus, be the anchor for our soul in these difficult times. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
