How would the Lord describe you? Abraham was called the friend of God (James 2:23) and David was described as a man after God’s own heart (Acts 13:22). Excellent character references but they fall short when compared with what Jesus said regarding the peacemakers. He called them “the sons of God” (Matthew 5:9). Think about it. Not just a friend of God or just a man after His own heart, but sons of God. Those who heal broken relationships, reconcile the estranged and restore peace will be called the sons of God (Matthew 5:9). If you want to be called a son or daughter of God be a peacemaker.

Lord, make us peacemakers. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
