Are you a merciful person by nature? Probably not unless you have allowed the Holy Spirit to do a deep work in your life. By nature, most of us tend to be judgmental. I don’t think we want to be that way, but we can’t seem to help ourselves.
So what can we do? We can ask the Lord to change our hearts and make us merciful. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I am determined to do just that. I am determined to show great mercy because I so desperately need great mercy.
“Blessed are the merciful,

For they will be shown mercy.”
Lord, create in us a compassionate heart. Give us empathy for those who have failed and mercy for those who have fallen. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
