The Bible allows divorce for only three reasons. 1) Adultery. In Matthew 19:9 Jesus said, “I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.” 2) Desertion. 1 Corinthians 7:15 says, “But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances.” 3) Physical abuse. 1 Corinthians 7:15 “…God has called us to live in peace.” 1 Peter 3:7 (MSG) “Be good husbands to your wives. Honor them, delight in them…Treat your wives, then, as equals so your prayers don’t run aground.”
“Didn’t the Lord make you one with your wife? So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth…do not be unfaithful to your wife.”
