God has little patience with the fainthearted, with those who are always looking back instead of embracing His vision for the future. We should have a deep appreciation for our rich spiritual heritage, but we can’t live there. That was then, and this is now. And now it is time for us to write the next chapter in our spiritual journey, time for us to create our own spiritual heritage.

Paul put it this way:

“This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”

–Philippians 3:13–14 (AKJV)

Lord Jesus, forgive us for always dragging our feet. Renew our vision and, with it, our faith. Empower us to live boldly. In Your holy name I pray, amen.
