The images of the last days I spent with my father have been forever etched upon my heart. I will never forget the love and devotion heaped upon him by his family and friends. The person who goes into eternity loved as he was is rich indeed. The challenge for us is to live in a way that causes our friends and family to love and honor us when we come to the end of our earthly life.

In life my father taught me how to live and in death he showed me how to die with dignity. I will always be in his debt. His fingerprints are all over my life.

“To live is Christ and to die is gain.”

— Philippians 1:21 (NIV)

Lord help us to live lives that honor You and bless others. Amen.
