Time seems to stand still, and it feels as if I am standing alone in the presence of God. With undeniable clarity I hear Him ask, “Will you go?” It isn’t an audible voice, not one I can hear with my ear, but it might as well be. In my spirit I am arguing with God, telling Him that I will willingly sacrifice my life if I can be assured that by doing so His purposes will be accomplished. What I am not willing to do is to throw my life away for no good reason. Again God speaks to me, clearly, distinctly. “Nothing you do in obedience to Me is ever wasted no matter how it may appear at the time.”

“Those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.”

— 1 Peter 4:19 (NIV)

Lord Jesus give us the courage to say “Yes” even when we don’t know the outcome. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
