If you cannot talk about past hurts and betrayals without experiencing strong emotions, then you are probably still dealing with a measure of unforgiveness. When we have truly forgiven those who have sinned against us, we can remember the betrayal without reliving the pain.
“Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
— Matthew 18:21-22 (NIV)
Lord Jesus, by an act of our will we choose to forgive those who have sinned against us. Make our obedient act of faith real in our spirit and in our emotions. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
