To be content Paul learned he had to be committed to a cause greater than himself. From the moment Jesus confronted him on the road to Damascus, until the day he laid his head on the executioner’s block, he was consumed with a holy passion. He lived to take the Gospel to those who had never heard the good news. Nothing else mattered. All other concerns paled beside this holy obsession. No risk was too great, no sacrifice too costly, no hardship too severe, and no distance too far. Hear him as he cries…

“My only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.”

— Acts 20:24 (NIV)

Lord Jesus, give us a holy obsession, a cause greater than ourselves. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
