According to 2 Corinthians 5:21 Jesus was made sin for us by an act of God. God took our sinfulness and imputed it to Jesus. Our sin became His sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. So how do we become “the righteousness of God”? By living sinless lives? Of course not! Jesus was not made to be sin by sinning neither do our good works make us righteous. It is an act of God! When we receive Jesus as our savior God imputes His righteousness to us!

Lord, teach us to trust only the finished work of Jesus Christ. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
