When Daniel was growing up the times were evil. Apostasy was a way of life. Judah had forsaken the Lord and Israel had become like the heathen nations around them. They sacrificed their children and filled Jerusalem with innocent blood. They were not ashamed of their loathsome conduct, and they could not blush.
Does that sound familiar? I could be describing our nation. We have forsaken God’s laws, we have abandoned our Judeo/Christian roots, we have cast off virtually all moral and spiritual restraint, we call evil good and good evil. We are drowning in the innocent blood of sixty million babies put to death before birth. As surely as God judged ancient Israel, He will judge us.
“The day of the Lord is surely coming…the heavens will pass away with a terrible noise, and the heavenly bodies will disappear in fire, and the earth and everything on it will be burned up.”
— 2 Peter 3:10 (TLB)
Lord, listen! Lord, forgive! Lord, save us! For your sake, my God, do not delay. Amen.
