A grieving friend confided: “The thing I hate most is that I have become such a negative person. I guess I’m just tired of living. All the joy has gone out of my life. There’s no color, no sunshine. Everything is a dirty grey. The things that once gave me pleasure—walking on the beach, tending my flower garden, reading to the children—no longer interest me. Now all I want to do is sleep but no matter how much sleep I get I’m always tired.”
You may be experiencing something like that right now. Don’t despair. God is a very present help.
“He has delivered us…and he will deliver us again. On him we have set our hope.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:10 (NIV)
Lord Jesus deliver us from despair and restore our joy. Amen.
