If all we knew about the apostle Peter were his spiritual triumphs, he would be an intimidating figure indeed. By the same token, if all we knew of him were his failures, he would be forgettable at best – perhaps even tragic. But when we consider his spiritual achievements against the backdrop of his failures, we cannot help but be inspired. If God could use a man like Peter then maybe, just maybe, He can use someone like us.

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a flawed man with feet of clay. Still, I surrender myself to You believing that You can use even a man like me. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
