The three aspects of salvation are justification, sanctification and glorification. Justification refers to our positional standing before God—“made perfect forever” (Hebrews 10:14). Sanctification refers to the continuing work of Christ in our daily life. It is the work Christ is doing in us—“those who are being made holy” (Hebrews 10:14). We are justified by faith and faith alone (Galatians 2:16) but we are sanctified by faith and obedience. Sanctification is a cooperative effort involving the Holy Spirit and our will. Only the Holy Spirit can break the power of canceled sin but He works through our obedience.
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”

Lord Jesus, I surrender my will to the work of Your Holy Spirit. Sanctify me and make me holy. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
