The thing that makes betrayal so devastating is because someone we love, and trust always perpetrates it. It could not be otherwise, or it would not be betrayal. And no one can wound us like those we know and love. Maybe you were betrayed by an unfaithful spouse, or a parent that stole your innocence, or a friend who let you down. Whatever the case my heart goes out to you. You have to live with the knowledge that your spouse, or your parent, or friend is not the person you thought they were, not the person they pretended to be.
“Even my close friend, whom I trusted,
— Psalm 41:9 (NIV 1984)
he who shared my bread,
has lifted up his heel against me.”
Lord Jesus heal those who have been betrayed. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
