You’ve probably noticed that life seems to work better for some people than it does for others. You may have even been tempted to conclude that some people get all the breaks. I beg to differ. We reap what we sow. According to the Apostle Peter, the “good life” is not a matter of chance but the result of making right choices. He suggests four things. I call them Peter’s Principles for Living the Good Life. Practice these principles and you will experience the “good life” regardless of the circumstances in which you find yourself.

“For, whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep their tongue from evil
and their lips from deceitful speech.
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.”

— 1 Peter 3:10-11 (NIV)

Lord Jesus, help me to plant the seeds of love and compassion in all the relationships of my life that I might enrich, not only the lives of others, but my own life as well. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
