The Lord’s prayer begins with Kingdom concerns—the hallowing of God’s name, the coming of His kingdom and the doing of His will on earth. Given the mess we have made of things—wars, famine, pandemics, poverty, injustice, crime, and racism—our most passionate prayer should be for the coming of His kingdom on earth. His is a kingdom of righteousness, justice, and peace. Only He can redeem the mess we have made.

Father God You are our only hope. Set up Your kingdom on earth and right the mess we have made. Amen.
