In Matthew 18 Jesus tells the story of a man who had been forgiven a debt totaling millions of dollars and yet he wouldn’t forgive a man who owed him a few thousand dollars. How he could do such a thing is beyond me, yet that’s exactly what he did. But then again, maybe it’s not beyond me. I’ve done the same thing. You probably have too. God forgives me an incalculable sin debt and yet I won’t forgive those who have wronged me. What am I thinking?
“He grabbed him and began to choke him. “Pay back what you owe me!” he demanded. His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, “Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.” But he refused.”
