I love Hallmark’s greeting cards, but I have to admit that they portray an idyllic version of life and love. In real life, marriage and family are messy, no matter how much you love one another. Let an aged parent or an unemployed adult child move in with you and things can really get sticky. That’s not necessarily a “bad” thing, but it is often a “hard” thing. That’s by divine design, I think. Marriage and family is often the crucible God uses to form the character of Christ in us.
“Love each other…Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. . . . That is what God has called you to do, and he will grant you his blessing.”
