Mary and Joseph traveled for an entire day without realizing that twelve-year-old Jesus wasn’t with them. They simply who assumed He was somewhere in the mob of travelers crowding around them. Before we start pointing fingers, we need to realize that if we’re not careful we can get so caught up in the day-to-day business of living that we lose touch with Him. We assume He is with us and are startled to discover that He’s no longer a real part of our life. Or if He is with us, we pay Him no mind, thinking we know all there is to know about Him.
