A fourth criteria for wise decision making is critical data. It is an important element in decision making but it is not the only factor, not even the most important factor. To be useful critical data must be evaluated and interpreted correctly. The Israelites spent an additional forty years in the wilderness because ten of the twelve men who went into the promise land to explore it misinterpreted the data. “And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land” (Numbers 13:32). To make wise decisions you must interpret the data correctly!

the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances.”
Lord, give us wisdom to correctly interpret the data we use to make decisions. Amen.
