Yesterday I told you I use the “Three C’s” when choosing my team—chemistry, character and competence. If we don’t “click” I go no further but if the chemistry is there then I consider the candidate’s character. How is his or her spiritual life? Is he or she well grounded in the Scriptures? Is he or she emotionally healthy? Are his or her finances in order? Are his or her relationships in good shape? Only if he or she passes the character test do I consider competency.
“You need to keep a sharp eye out for…men who fear God, men of integrity, men who are incorruptible—and appoint them as leaders.”
— Exodus 18:21 (MSG)
Lord Jesus, I am not wise enough or perceptive enough to always make the right choice. Direct my thinking and guide my choices. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
