Looking back over my life I realize that while I have much to be thankful for I do have a few regrets. I wish I had been less full of myself. I wish I had invited people to receive Jesus every time I preached. I wish I had prayed for my family more faithfully. I wish I had been a better friend. I wish I had been a more Godly man.

Unfortunately all the wishing in the world will not change the past. The good news is I am forgiven and with the Lord’s help I can become a more Godly man.

“In him [Christ] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace”

— Ephesians 1:7 (ESV)

Lord Jesus, we surrender my regrets and disappointments to You. May we use the lessons we’ve learned to live a life ever more pleasing to You. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
